Topper produced the first Dawns in 1970 and continued to expanded the collection until spring 1973 when they went bankrupt. By 1973 there were 31 different dolls, 92 named outfits and a few unnamed, 20 different playsets, coloring books, paper dolls, Colorforms, umbrellas, mirrors, jewelry boxes, etc. Dawn's were 6 1/2 inches and also had some competition. There were several knock offs. The main people in the Dawn family are: Dawn, Glori, Angie, Dale, Longlocks, Jessica, Gary, Ron, Van, Kevin, Fancy Feet, Maureen, Melanie, Dinah, Denise, Daphne, Connie, and Kip.
